The Lyndon House Arts Center is pleased to announce the opening of Lyndon House Arts Center’s Choice Award Artist Exhibition by Bess Carter on November 8, 2022.  This exhibit is on view through March 4, 2023.  Please join us for an artist talk and gallery reception on February 16, 2023 at 6:00 pm. 

Bess Carter is the recent recipient of the 2022 Art Center Choice Award from the 47th Juried Exhibition. This award includes a solo exhibition in the renovated North Gallery.

Bess Carter is a local artist and a 2000 graduate of the Lamar Dodd School Art at UGA. She is the art teacher at Oconee County High School. 

“My inspiration definitely comes from my family and everyday beautifully imperfect life as a mom to four great kids. Seeing my art students find joy in making art and choosing to pursue creative careers is definitely a highlight of my job.” – says Carter

Bess Carter’s exhibition features landscapes, room interiors, and still life paintings all rich with unwavering color and delight.

All exhibitions are free of charge and open to the public.  Exhibitions are on view during regular gallery hours Tuesday and Thursday 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, Friday and Saturday 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.   Children must be accompanied by an adult.  Please note during the fall, the Lyndon House Arts Center will be closed on home football game Saturdays.  For more information, please call 706 613 3623
