ARTIST TALK Saturday, January 20, 2pm

The Lyndon House Arts Center is pleased to announce the opening of Lyndon House Arts Center’s Choice Award Artist Exhibition, Tell Me A Story, works by Jasmine Best, on November 18, 2023. This exhibit is on view through March 12, 2024.  The opening reception is Saturday November 18 at 2:00 pm.

The Lyndon House Arts Center Choice Award each year is selected by the Arts Center’s exhibition team.  The award is given to an exhibiting artist from the prior years Juried Exhibition and provides the opportunity for a solo show at the Arts Center.

Jasmine Best is a current MFA candidate at the Dodd School of Art, UGA. Best considers herself a Southern Artist, gathering narratives from her Carolinian family and childhood for artistic inspiration. Best’s personal memories and manipulations of her memories create dialogues about the black female identity. Best explores the folk story traditions of the Black South through tangible and traditional mediums such as fabric and yarn combined with digital sewing.  Jasmine Best’s upcoming exhibition includes all new wall works and sculpture.
