Full House is an exhibition of artwork by members of the groups and guilds that call the Lyndon House Arts Center home, representing the arts center’s seven studios: jewelry, photography, painting, printmaking, fiber, clay, and sculpture/woodworking.
"The tradition of a biennial Full House exhibition began in 2000, when the arts center expanded to the current building. Groups and guilds, however, began meeting when the arts center was first operating in the historic Ware-Lyndon House, long before the completion of the contemporary addition in 1999.
For nearly half a century, community artist groups have found a meeting place at the Lyndon House Arts Center. Over twenty groups and guilds have gathered through the years. Some groups, such as the Athens Art Association, continue to meet, while others have disbanded and reemerged in new forms.
The Full House tradition continues today as a celebration of community, makers, and creativity. The 2020 Full House exhibition will be the first virtual version. This year, to expand the reach and include those who are sheltering in place, the Full House exhibition will be online. Over 70 artists have work in this year’s online exhibit.
The Lyndon House Arts Center is proud to share the artwork of our regular visitors, our constant friends, our loyal supporters. We hope that by highlighting the abundance and diversity of groups and guilds available for artists to join in the future, our community will continue to grow." - Beth Sale, Curator at the Lyndon House Arts Center
Please note that most groups and guilds meetings are temporarily on hold. Meetings will resume once CDC guidelines allow.
