THANKSGIVING DAY SCHEDULE 2023
2023 Thanksgiving Day Holiday Schedule
The Athens-Clarke County Solid Waste Department will suspend compost, garbage and recycling collections on Thursday, November 23rd and Friday November 24th, 2023 in recognition of the Thanksgiving Day Holiday. Leaf and Limb collections will be suspended the whole week of Thanksgiving.
If you have residential service & commercial service with us outside of the downtown district your pick up schedule will be as follows: Monday will be collected on Monday. Tuesday and Wednesday will be collected on Tuesday. Thursday and Friday will be collected on Wednesday. We will resume our normal pickup schedule on Monday, November 28th, 2022. Please make sure your trash and recycling roll-carts are out on the curb by 7:00 AM on your pick up day.
- If you have commercial or residential service with us and are located within the Downtown District your pick up will be on regular schedule.

Annually, the Athens-Clarke County Solid Waste Department may alter collection service for the following holidays:
New Year’s Day, MLK Jr. Day, Earth Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Indigenous People's Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, & Christmas.
