ROAD RESTRICTIONS: Loop 10, US 29 & Old Hull Rd. for GDOT Bridge Project

On May 9, 2022 the westbound freeway entrance to Loop 10 West on Old Hull Rd. and an on-ramp from US 29 onto Loop 10 was closed for a Georgia Department of Transportation bridge replacement project, which is anticipated to last until March 23, 2023.

On May 9, 2022 the westbound freeway entrance to Loop 10 West on Old Hull Rd. and an on-ramp from US 29/State Route 8 onto Loop 10 towards Old Hull Road was closed for a Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) bridge replacement project.

Construction is currently anticipated to continue through March 5, 2023.

Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) and contractor Georgia Bridge & Concrete LLC will shift eastbound traffic to the newly built bridge. The new bridge will continue to have one lane of traffic going eastbound. Single lane traffic will continue onto the right lane of the bridge (outside lane with shoulder). Work will continue in the median between the two bridges. There will be new lane lines drawn and new barriers installed that day. 


Travelers are advised to expect delays. Seek alternate routes if possible.


The traffic shift will occur on Thursday, October 5, 2023. This change will set up the project for completion.


Exact dates may change due to weather or other factors. Motorists are cautioned to reduce their speed while traveling through work zones, stay alert, and watch for workers

The Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) and its construction partner Georgia Bridge & Concrete LLC will be performing a traffic shift to both eastbound and westbound roadways on State Route 8 / US 29 Southbound, under the 10 Loop. Traffic will be directed with signage and marking will on the roadway. Traffic will move to the newly constructed bridge so that the old bridge can be demolished and begin phase 2 of the construction project.

The traffic shift will occur on Wednesday, February 1, 2023.
