Voyles Road Repairs Complete - Road Open to Through Traffic

Voyles Road from Olympic Drive to Spring Valley Road is back open to through traffic.

On Saturday, January 7, 2023 a section of road collapsed due to a failing stormwater culvert underneath the pavement. The culvert was washed out during the heavy rains that occurred on the evening of January 3.

The Athens-Clarke County Transportation and Public Works Department is currently operating under emergency procedures to get the culvert and road surface repaired and replaced. There is currently no timeline for the completion of the repairs, but they are expected to take at least several months. Updates will be added as they are known.

A detour using Olympic Drive, Athena Drive, and Spring Valley Road is currently in place.
