Athens Creative Theatre Presents “Leaving Iowa” at Lyndon House Arts Center

Athens Creative Theatre in partnership with the Lyndon House Arts Center and Morton Theatre will present Clue & Manton’s “Leaving Iowa.” The play is the story of Don Browning, a middle-aged writer, who returns home and decides to finally take his father’s ashes to his childhood home.  When Don discovers Grandma’s house is now a grocery store, he begins traveling across Iowa searching for a proper resting place for his father. 

The production will be performed live on the lawn of the Lyndon House Arts Center located at 211 Hoyt Street, on Friday, May 7th at 7:30PM. Tickets are $6 per person and reservations can be made online at for groups of up to 8 people per reservation. 

Patrons in groups of up to 8 individuals will share a designated 12’x12’ picnic square on the lawn for the performance. Audience members are encouraged to pack a picnic to enjoy before and during the production. 

For safety measures, patrons will be encouraged to wear masks while outside of their designated 12'x12' pods and social distancing will be encouraged when interacting with people from outside their designated pod.
