The Lyndon House Arts Center is pleased to announce the Fall Series of exhibitions featuring Carving Out Liminal Pathways Toward Fragmentation by Sebastian Garcia Huidobro and Rachel Lea Seburn, opening on Thursday, October 2, 2025 and on view through January 24, 2026. Artist reception is October 2 at 5:30-7:30 p.m.
This two-person exhibition pairs Sebastian Garcia Huidobro’s abstract sculptural paintings with Rachel Lea Seburn’s brutalist-inspired sculptures. Together, their works explore balance, growth, and interdependence, with forms that stack, lean, and lock together like structural building blocks.
Huidobro magnifies the hidden movements of paint into upholstered, wall-based sculptures made of foam and fabric. Vibrant colors transform his organic, molecule-like forms into playful “candy pillows” that highlight line, shape, and surface.
Seburn, by contrast, draws from the resilience of Northern Alberta’s brutalist architecture. Using concrete, plexiglass, plaster, wood, and silicone, she creates angular and curved forms that juxtapose heavy, neutral materials with luminous transparencies. Rooted in the spirit of autoconstruction, her work reflects resourcefulness and self-reliance.
