A local gun club was burglarized early Sunday morning when suspects drove a stolen vehicle through the front door of the business.
In the incident, ACCPD responded to a burglary alarm at Athens Gun Club on 115 Mill Center Blvd at 4:37 am on Sunday, April 28th. When officers arrived, they made entry into the Gun Club and discovered a vehicle had been driven through the front door and was still inside. It was later determined that the vehicle, a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee, was reported stolen the night before.
ACCPD made contact with the owner. Evidence available showed one male drove the Jeep through the storefront and four others entered the business and stole multiple firearms. All five suspects left the scene in a newer model white Audi with a sunroof.
ACCPD is actively investigating the incident and asks anyone with information about the
