ACCPD received a call reporting a Stolen Vehicle on Sunday, January 5th at approximately
5:00pm. During the call, a victim reported his 1993 Chevy Pickup truck was stolen from a gas
station at 2545 Atlanta Highway.
While ACCPD units were responding, an officer noticed the stolen vehicle stopped at a red light
near Riverhill Drive. The Chevy fled the area. GSP units engaged and stopped the stolen vehicle
on Georgia 10 Inner Loop near North Avenue.
Two male juveniles, 15 and 16 years old, were taken into custody. The pair were reported as
runaways from a Columbus, Georgia DFACS facility.
The Department of Juvenile Justice advised ACCPD to detain the juveniles. They were
transported to a Regional Youth Detention Center in Gainesville, GA.
The stolen vehicle struck at least two other private vehicles during the incident. No injuries
were reported in those collisions. There were no ACCPD injuries and no ACCPD vehicles were
damaged.
