Special Election-City of Winterville (Unexpired Council Seat)

The City of Winterville resolved on May 3, 2023, that the Athens-Clarke County Board of Elections and Voter Registration shall conduct a Special Election on November 7, 2023, to submit to the qualified voters of the City of Winterville, Georgia the office of City Council, to fill the unexpired term of Timothy Pierce-Tomlin (resigned). Said Election will be held in conjunction with the November 7, 2023 General Municipal Election.

 You are further notified that qualifying for said seats will open on Monday, August 21, 2023 at 8:30 a.m. and will continue daily from 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM with said qualifying period ending on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at 5 PM. Qualifying will be conducted at the Athens-Clarke County Board of Elections Office, 155 East Washington Street, Athens, Georgia. The qualifying fee is required upon qualifying and is prescribed by law.

WINTERVILLE CITY COUNCIL $ 126.00

This office will be elected to complete the unexpired four-year term for City Council that will end on December 31, 2025. A runoff, if necessary, will be held on Tuesday, December 5,2023. The polling place for holding said General Municipal Election shall be the Winterville Train Depot and will be open from 7:00 o'clock am until 7:00 o'clock pm on Election Day. 

Anyone desiring to vote in this election and who is not a qualified voter must register no later than Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at any of the approved voter registration sites in order to be eligible to vote.  Early/Advance Voting will begin on Monday, October 16 through Friday, November 3, 2023.
