Spring 2025 Rainscaping and Rain Barrel Workshop Announced

Celebrate Earth Day by learning about rainscaping and adding a new rain barrel to your property! Registration is now open for our Spring 2025 Rain Barrel Workshop, scheduled for April 24, 2025 from 6:00 to 7:00 PM at 3500 Mitchell Bridge Rd. Workshop attendance and your first barrel are free, and participants have the option to purchase a second barrel and DIY kit for $30 (cash or check made out to ACC). The deadline to register is April 21, 2025.

Pre-registration for this workshop is required, and there are only 15 spaces available. We ask that if you have attended a workshop within the past two years that you refrain from registering again so others interested in attending have a chance to sign up. If you register after the event is full, you will receive an email notification from our department. We look forward to seeing you there!

Protecting Local Waterways This Earth Day

Earth Day (April 22, 2025) is a time to reflect on our impact on the environment and take action to protect the world around us, including our local waterways. Stormwater runoff carries litter, chemicals, and other pollutants into streams and rivers, but small changes in our daily habits make a big difference. Whether it's picking up trash, planting native plants, or reducing fertilizer and pesticide use, every effort helps keep our community cleaner and healthier.

Looking for ways to get involved? Visit GivePulse.com to find local volunteer opportunities and make a difference this Earth Day!

Spot the Stormwater Mini-Packer Truck!

There's a new ride in town! In partnership with ACC Solid Waste, a mini-packer truck now sports a fresh stormwater-themed wrap reminding residents to pick up after their pets and keep our waterways clean. If you see it around town, snap a photo and share it with us! You can email pictures to stormwater@accgov.com or send us a DM on Instagram. We'd love to see your sightings of our rolling reminder that pet waste isn't fertilizer!
