The Designation Committee of the Historic Preservation Commission looks at proposed designation for an initial assessment of the likelihood of compliance with the designation criteria, suggesting areas where addition research are needed to comply. This group also does an initial review of a designation report for a proposed designation to ensure that the report is comprehensive and ready to proceed in the designation process.

The Designation Committee meetings may be cancelled if no business is on the agenda.
