The Lyndon House Arts Center is pleased to announce the opening of hold still, please, an exhibition of paintings by Kate Kaiser, on view in the Lounge Gallery from January 22, 2026, through March 21, 2026. An artist reception is scheduled for January 22, 2026, 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. and an artist talk will be held on February 26, 2026, at 5:30 p.m.

Kate Kaiser is a self-taught painter based in Colbert, GA. Working primarily in oil on wood panel, she creates intimate abstract landscapes that explore space, memory, and the quiet tension between presence and absence. Her small-scale works evoke a sense of vastness and stillness through gestural, expressive brushwork. Kaiser paints intuitively, frequently using her fingers to shape forms -- close observation of the paintings’ surface sometimes reveals the subtle imprint of a fingertip. 

Kaiser began painting in 2020 and continues to develop a process-driven practice focused on transformation, fleeting presence, and what remains unseen. Skies, clouds, and shifting forms dissolve into abstraction, inviting reflection on memory, transformation and what, if anything, is left behind.

All exhibitions at Lyndon House Arts Center are free of charge and open to the public.  Exhibitions are on view during regular gallery hours Tuesday and Thursday 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, Friday and Saturday 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.  Children must be accompanied by an adult.
