Celebrated annually, International Compost Awareness Week is designed to promote the benefits of composting and compost itself for effective resource management, soil health and plant growth. Traditionally, ICAW is promoted by holding group activities and events. However, following last year’s model, the plan for ICAW 2021 is to utilize social media, Zoom, online videos, email and other creative platforms for people to spread the word about composting. The events are sponsored locally by ACC Recycling Division, Keep Athens-Clarke County Beautiful, UGA Cooperative Extension and the State Botanical Garden of Georgia.
