Small Playground Closed at SE Clarke Park Temporarily Closed

The small playground, near the concession stand, on the Lexington Road side of Southeast Clarke Park is being replaced!  

The playground is now closed and will remain so for approximately three weeks.  The new playground will include several new features, such as swings and shade umbrellas (see attached photo).

Please remember the World of Wonder Playground, located on the Whit Davis Road side of the park, remains open and unaffected by this construction.

Cook’s Trail Trail Closure  
Effective Until Further Notice, Closed Indefinitely |  Posted: 3:09 PM 1/8/2019 
Due to the wet weather and flooding along Sandy Creek, Cook’s Trail is closed from Sandy Creek Nature Center to Oxbow Loop Trail until further notice. There has been extensive damage to boardwalks and bridges. Boardwalks will have to be rebuilt.

Trail Updates  

Trails may be temporarily closed or under restricted use advisories throughout the year to maintain the integrity of the trails.  Temporary closures are usually due to maintenance; restricted use advisories are usually due to weather.
