The ACC Arborist will conduct at minimum 5 site visits. You must contact the ACC Arborist by phone or e-mail (trees@accgov.com / (706) 613-3515) at least 48 hours prior to requested inspection. The inspections are as follows:
Preliminary Inspection. Contact the ACC Arborist to schedule a site visit during Plan Review to review the quantity, quality and distribution of conserved canopy proposed.
Tree Protection Inspection. Contact the ACC Arborist to schedule a site visit to inspect the tree protection fence prior to any timber clearing or land disturbance. Land disturbance can never be closer than 10’ from the trunk of a conserved tree. Arborist should be given 24 hours-notice.
Installation of Trees. Contact the ACC Arborist to schedule a site visit before the installation of trees. The ACC Arborist will meet with the installer of the trees and ensure the proper installation and location of proposed trees on the TMP.
Certificate of Occupancy Inspection. Contact the ACC Arborist to schedule a site visit after all trees have been planted so that the Arborist can check the site for al required conserved and planted trees.
Ongoing Compliance. See below.
The ACC Community Forester will also inspect the site under the following conditions:
Encroachment is planned within the tree protection zone of an Athens-Clarke County tree. Usually this tree is located in the ROW.
New trees are proposed for the ROW.
