Support Services: 

  • Non-Discrimination Ordinance Purpose and Intent: “It is the purpose and intent of the Mayor and Commission of Athens-Clarke County to protect and safeguard the right and opportunity of all persons to be free from all forms of discrimination, including discrimination based on actual or perceived race, color, religion, national origin, ancestry, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, disability, marital status, familial status, or veteran/military status. The Mayor and Commission’s purpose in enacting this ordinance is to promote the public health and welfare of all persons who live and work in Athens-Clarke County. It is important for the Unified Government to ensure that all persons within Athens-Clarke County have equal access to employment, housing, and public accommodations” Sec. 6-21-1.

      • Complete Discrimination Complaint Form 
      • Deliver form to the Attorney's Office or mail it to P.O. Box 427, Athens GA 30603 
      • Attorney's Office will review complaint. 
      • Attorney's Office will notify you if there is any further information needed 
      • You will be notified of the results of the investigation

Educational Materials: 

  • The American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA)allocated $57.6 million to Athens-Clarke County Unified Government to support initiatives in Youth Development and Violence Prevention, Affordable Housing, Homelessness, Business Development and Workforce Support, and Behavioral Health, with resources available through December 31, 2026, to build a stronger, more equitable community.
