SCHOOL'S OUT?  FUN IS IN!

Leisure Services offers a wide variety of camps for children when Clarke County School District is not in session, including summer break and holidays.  ACC Leisure Services offers out of school programs with fun and creative themes. 

Summer Camp 2026

What makes summer camp with Athens-Clarke County Leisure Services awesome?  Where else can you go behind the scenes and learn animal care at Bear Hollow Zoo, design your own theatrical or dance production, practice your canoe and archery skills, get skateboarding coaching, learn all about art, hang out with friends all day, and have fun - right here in Athens?  We have it all!  

ACCGov Leisure Services offers full and half-day options for children ages 3-17!

  • Dance Camps (East Athens Educational Dance Center)
  • Gymnastics Camps (Bishop Park)
  • Nature Camps (Memorial Park and Sandy Creek Day Camp)
  • Sports Camps (ACC Tennis Center, Bishop Park, & Southeast Clarke Park)
  • Theatre Camps (Athens Creative Theatre, featuring on-stage and behind-the-scenes technical instruction)
  • Teen Camps (Athens Creative Theatre, Heard Park, Lay Park, Rocksprings Park, Sandy Creek Day Camp) 
  • Traditional All-Day Camps (Heard Park, Lay Park, Howard Park)

Scholarships for Summer Camp must be submitted by Friday, February 27, 2026

Registration for Summer Camp will open:

9:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2026 for Athens-Clarke County Residents

Noon on Monday, March 16, 2026 for Non-Residents

Employment Opportunities

Looking for a summer job where you get to hang out with kids and get paid to have fun?  How about nights and weekends off?  And the pay starts at $15.60/hour? Yes,   Camp isn't just for kids!  

Hiring will begin soon for camp directors, counselors, counselors in training, lifeguards, pool staff, pool managers... there are a lot of opportunities to put your skills to work!  If you know our camps, you know we have a little bit of everything - so if you are into art, dance, theatre, nature education, outdoors, sports, games, gymnastics, tennis - we can find a spot for you!

Online Registration Resources:

  • All registration takes place online using the MyRec software.  Create your account before registering for camp.
  • Computers are available to use at Heard Park, Lay Park, and Howard Park during regular hours of operation.
  • Scholarships are available for qualifying Athens-Clarke County residents. Scholarships are typically available within 5 business days of application. However due to the volume associated with Summer Camp, all scholarships must be received at least two weeks before registration begins in order to ensure they are available for use.
