Importance of Jury Service

Service & Citizenship

Jury service is a duty of citizenship. Through service on a jury, a citizen has a direct hand in the administration of justice. The jury bears the significant responsibility of correctly deciding the facts in dispute in a given case. While errors of law may be corrected by the trial judge or the appellate courts, a jury’s error of fact may never be corrected. Thus, each juror’s duty is one of grave responsibility and importance.
