On Saturday, October 28 all are invited to join as we ink the relief blocks and drive the steamroller over them to print large-scale images on paper and fabric. Attendees can assist in rolling ink and pulling prints. All will enjoy the magic of printmaking with a steamroller!
In addition, we will be joined by guest artists; Amanda Burk of Flat File Print Shop and David Hale / Love Hawk, who will be creating their own design and carving their own block for our print day. More magic to witness!
Our partners include two student groups, the paper making class and the Print Making Student Association from Lamar Dodd School of Art. This fall the students will be creating 5’ square handmade paper for our steamroller prints, launching an exhibition of handmade paper in their Project Space and will be assisting us on the steamroller day.
This program coincides with the exhibition on view in the Arts Center’s galleries; the North American Hand Papermakers 8th Collegiate Paper Art Triennial. This exhibition features 40 works of wall-bound and sculptural paper created by 36 students from 11 colleges, including UGA.
