The Open Studio Membership gives adult artists access to our seven shared studio spaces during our open hours. You can sign up for an open studio membership anytime online. You must be an Open Studio Member and have experience in the studios you will be using. If you are new to the tools or equipment in a studio space, please sign up for a beginner course with us before signing up for an Open Studio Membership. All new members must meet with Amanda Burk for a Open Studio Orientation and to sign a waiver before beginning work in the studios. Tours of our studios can be scheduled by emailing amanda.burk@accgov.com.

Studios:

All members are expected to help maintain the studios by cleaning up after themselves, treating the space with respect, and treating other members' work with respect. 

Ceramics: throwing wheels (sitting and standing), 2 electric kilns, slab roller, extruder, assorted hand tools

Wood Shop: table saw, band saw, miter saw, planer, joiner, drill press, router table, assorted clamps and hand tools

Fine Metals: acetylene torches, electric kiln, roller, drill press, polishing wheel, rotary tools, assorted hand tools

Painting & Drawing: easels, drawing benches, drawing boards, palettes

Printmaking: 2 etching presses (30 x 60 inch & 18 x 36 inch beds), large and small rollers, exposure unit, assorted screens, squeegees, washout booth, light tables, letterpress equipment (sign press and assorted type), book press

Fiber Arts: sewing machines, floor looms, inkle looms, tapestry looms

Photography: developing canisters, temperature regulating sinks, enlargers, photo wash tanks, photo chemicals, heat press, dust-free cabinet, art documentation equipment and studio. *Please contact amanda.burk@accgov.com before signing up to use the photo studio.

Hours:

Studios are accessible to Open Studio Members during our open hours which are:

Tuesday and Thursday 10:00am - 8:00 pm

Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday 10:00 am - 5:00pm 

We are closed on Sundays, Mondays, holidays observed by the Athens-Clarke County Unified Government, and all UGA home football game Saturdays. 

Studios may become unavailable during scheduled classes, workshops, and summer camp. Members will be notified ahead of time via email about any upcoming programming.

Payment:

The monthly Open Studio Membership fee is $65 for one month. If you pay up front for 3 months, the discounted rate is $175. The discounted rate for 6 months is $335. We accept card, exact cash, or checks made out to "Athens-Clarke County."
