The IN CASE program gives artists a dedicated space in the Arts Center's lobby case where they can experiment, incorporate volume into their work, and materialize ideas that might otherwise not have a location within which to exist. The selected artist will install a single work that responds to the specific dimensions of the lobby case and its location within the Arts Center. Typically the IN CASE exhibit is on view for six to eight weeks.
The dimensions are: 87" h x 72" w x 12" d. The case has interior ceiling lights but does not include a power outlet. The case has sliding glass doors. The case has three optional glass shelves that are adjustable in height.
We're currently interested in reviewing installation proposals that will be on view in 2027.
Proposals are reviewed twice annually with deadlines of September 20 at 11:59 pm and April 20 at 11:59 pm. Following this deadline, applicants will be contacted within two months after review.
Open to all regional artists and artist groups. Transportation of accepted artworks is the responsibility of the artist/curator.
Free to apply and exhibit. Exhibiting artists receive 70% of the sale price of all work sold. Selected artists receive $250 upon the completion of the IN CASE installation.
To submit an IN CASE proposal for consideration, please provide the following information:
Provide a brief bio for the artist included in your proposal. If any of the artists have exhibited at LHAC in the past, please indicate the years and exhibitions. You may chose to upload this information as a document in the following field.
If this is a group proposal, please include all available artists' websites.
Please upload up to ten image files showing artwork for the proposed IN CASE exhibition. At least five images must be uploaded for consideration. Images may be low resolution. Please label files with Last Name_First Name_01, Last Name_Frist Name_02, etc.
