Professional Experience: Former Athens Technical College Dean of General Education (2011-2015) and English Faculty/Adjunct Faculty Coordinator (1987-2011).

Civic & Community Experience: Served on 100% Athens Renewable Energy Initiative Steering Committee (2018-2020); Bike Athens Board Secretary (206-2019); Complete Streets Athens (2017-2019); LEAD Athens Graduate (2002).

Government Experience: Chaired Athens In Motion Commission (2019-2020) and SPLOST 2005 Citizen Oversight Committee. Served on Bike Pedestrian Master Plan Citizen Committee (2016-2018); SPLOST 2011 and 2005 Citizen Advisory Committees. Athens Citizens Police Academy (2020). Mayor Pro Tempore (2022).

Education: Doctorate of Adult Education, University of Georgia, Master of Arts in English as a Second Language, University of Arizona Tucson, and Bachelor of Arts in French, State University of NY at Binghamton.

Personal Information: Carol grew up in Baldwin, New York, a suburb of New York City and is the daughter of two public school teachers. After completing her bachelor's and master's degrees, she moved to Athens with with her former husband and raised two daughters (Clare, 34, and Anne, 30) who attended the Athens Montessori School and the local public schools. In her spare time, Carol can often be found cycling. 

Her initial term began January 6, 2021.
