Leisure Services happily invites all of Athens community to Flight of the Fireflies Lantern Parade. With your help will be able to light up the winding paths to Dudley Park together!

Participants will enjoy live music, fantastical performers and large-scale illuminated art works. On the night of the Flight of the Fireflies Lantern Parade, each access point to Dudley Park is staffed with friendly volunteers to help guests find their way. This parade is open to the entire Athens community, individuals, families, school, neighborhood groups, and organizations are all encouraged to participate.

Free valet service will be available to all who arrive by bicycle. Attendants will be stationed along the Firefly trail just northwest of the trestle bridge.

The parade route takes approximately 30 minutes to walk, and does contain some terrain that may be challenging for people with mobility issues such as steep inclines and rough surfaces. Alternative routes are available. The route begins in the center of Dudley park, then crosses the Firefly Trestle Bridge, down the access ramp, across Poplar St, and re-enters Dudley Park. Participants may experience loud noises, heights, bright and/or flashing lights, darkness, and people in costume and masks. For more information please call 706-548-1865.
