This project is a continuation of the Barber Street Bike and Pedestrian Improvements Project, which considers new infrastructure on a longer stretch of Barber Street from Prince Avenue to North Chase Street. The proposed amenities are designed to create safer access for bicyclists, pedestrians, and motorists to adjacent neighborhoods, businesses, and public transit facilities along Barber Street and the surrounding area.
This project is broken up into four different segments, as follows:
- From North Chase Street to Loop 10 Underpass
- From Loop 10 Underpass to Oneta Street
- From Oneta Street to Boulevard
- From Boulevard to Prince Avenue
Project Update
On June 6, 2023, the Project Concept was approved by the Mayor and Commission to include a Commission-defined Option.
Site walk with Mayor & Commission was held on December 15, 2023. The survey is complete. A second site walk was held on July 18, 2024 with initial layouts based on survey data. Preliminary Plans are ongoing with proposed presentation to Mayor & Commission in Winter 2024.
