Sub-Project 9 Solar Energy System- Family Protection

Project Details

The proposed Project Concept for SP #9 is for the installation of solar energy system at the Athens-Clarke County Family Protection Center. The installation will cost up to $270,000; of that $70,000 is proposed to be funded by the SPLOST 2011 Project 23 - Energy Sustainability Program and $200,000 will be funded by the GEFA Grant.    

Project Updates

The Project Concept was approved by M&C on April 6, 2021. On December 7, 2022 the M&C approved the award of the construction contract for Solar Sun World, LLC .Foundations have been poured for the solar arrays and conduit and wire has been installed from the building to the array locations. The Contractor is currently working on assembling the solar array framing.
