The ACCPD Cadet Program provides civilian staff and prospective officers for the agency. Even more important, college students can serve as prime role models for grade schoolers who can easily see themselves attaining their level of success. 

Cadets perform routine non-sworn duties under direct supervision. Tasks are completed on a rotational basis throughout bureaus of the Police Department in preparation for a law enforcement career.

 Cadets will be mentored by Police Officer Mentors while advising Athens-Clarke County Police Explorers. Additionally, Cadets will accumulate hands-on training and experiences in the classroom and field.
