Sandy Creek Park Improvements

The Leisure Services Department is currently planning several improvements for Sandy Creek Park. These improvements are split into 7 phases.

Phase 1: Complete
Beechtree Drive and Campsite Drive were repaved, while Sandy Park Drive was crack sealed and re-striped to preserve the life of the asphalt.

Phase 2: Complete
New fishing piers were installed around Lake Chapman. Fishing pier locations were determined after public surveys were conducted.

Phase 3: Complete
Trash cans and picnic tables were redistributed and replaced as needed.

Phase 4: Complete
This phase consists of the rehabilitation of the existing dog parks, including new fencing, gates, entry pads, benches, trash cans, and other amenities.

Phase 5: Closed
Included upgrading, rehabilitation, and improved wayfinding of portions of the existing Lakeside Trail at Lake Chapman. Mayor & Commission approved funds from this Phase be moved to Phases 6 & 7.

Phase 6: In Progress
Rehabilitation of the Lake Chapman beach areas including relocation of beach showers, re-grading of beach area, installation of a new drainage system and renovation of beach shower drains to alleviate erosion issue with the application of new sand following drainage improvements.

Phase 7: In Progress
Replacement of the 26-year old playground and installation of a new tot lot playground at Beechtree Drive in Sandy Creek Park.
