Project Details

This project is for the replacement of the tot lot playground at Sandy Creek Park.  The playground is approximately 26 years old and is the oldest in the system. This project is being supplemented with $125,000 funding from SPLOST 2011, Project #16.

Project Update

The dedication for the completed playground was held July 3rd, 2024.   The new playground near the park’s beach is designed to remove barriers allowing opportunities for children of all ages and abilities. The playground has a turf carpet mat throughout, a misting station for cooling off at the entrance of the playground, and a perimeter fence with benches to help guardians keep an eye on their children.
