The Solicitor-General serves as the prosecuting attorney in State Court and the Athens-Clarke County and Winterville Municipal Courts. In these capacities, the Solicitor-General has the responsibility to decide on prosecution of misdemeanor offenses occurring within the limits of Athens-Clarke County.
If you are not currently represented by a public defender and you have not hired a private attorney, please be prepared to discuss your questions and/or concerns with the Assistant Solicitor-General assigned to your case at your next scheduled court date.
