Join us on Thursday, March 13th from 5:30pm-7:30pm to celebrate the 50th Juried Exhibition at the Lyndon House Arts Center!This year's juror, Michael Rooks, the Wieland Family Senior Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at the High Museum in Atlanta, will be in attendance at the opening reception. Awards will be announced and distributed at the reception.

After an introduction to foundational planning concepts and addressing frequently asked questions, we will discuss issues such as intellectual property, art succession, valuation challenges, and tax-efficient transfer of assets. Saturday, March 8, 2025 gathering begins at 7:30pm at Dudley Park Participants are invited to enjoy live music, fantastical performers and large-scale illuminated art works. On the night of the Flight of the Fireflies Lantern Parade, each access point to Dudley Park will be staffed with friendly volunteers to help guests find their way. This parade is open to the entire Athens community, individuals, families, school, neighborhood groups, and organizations are all encouraged to participate. From 12pm-2pm on the same date, we will be making lanterns at the Lyndon House Arts Center for all last-minute lantern parade attendees!

Collecting these magazines is both a personal passion and an act of preservation—each issue a vibrant time capsule of Black life, from the 1950s to the early 2000s.
