ACC LANDFILL FAQs
What type of material (trash) does the ACC Landfill accept?
We take municipal solid waste (MSW), which includes furniture, junk and kitchen waste. Please see the Fees & Other Services link for pricing.
Does the ACC Landfill take trash from Elbert County?
No. We take trash from Athens-Clarke and Oglethorpe County ONLY.
Does the ACC Landfill take trash from Greene County?
No. We take trash from Athens-Clarke and Oglethorpe County ONLY.
Does the ACC Landfill take trash from Gwinnett County?
No. We take trash from Athens-Clarke and Oglethorpe County ONLY.
Does the ACC Landfill take trash from Hall County?
No. We take trash from Athens-Clarke and Oglethorpe County ONLY.
Does the ACC Landfill take trash from Jackson County?
No. We take trash from Athens-Clarke and Oglethorpe County ONLY.
Does the ACC Landfill take trash from Madison County?

If I have an Athens-area address, but live in Oconee County, may I use the ACC Landfill?
No. We take trash from Athens-Clarke and Oglethorpe County ONLY.
Does the ACC Landfill take trash from Rockdale County?
No. We take trash from Athens-Clarke and Oglethorpe County ONLY.
Does the ACC Landfill take trash from Walton County?
No. We take trash from Athens-Clarke and Oglethorpe County ONLY.
Does the ACC Landfill take construction and demolition (C&D) material?
No. All construction and demolition (C&D) material (carpet, carpet padding and tack strips, decking, doors, door frames, fencing, lumber, plywood, sheetrock, shingles, etc.) are to be taken to either the Oglethorpe County C&D Landfill or the Walton County C&D Landfill.
If I have a mixed load of municipal solid waste (MSW) and construction and demolition (C&D) material, may I use the ACC Landfill?
No. Mixed loads of this nature should be taken to the Oak Grove Landfill in Winder, Georgia.
Does the ACC Landfill take any construction-related materials?
Because we are a Subtitle D lined landfill, we take creosote-soaked railroad ties, insulation (bagged) and asbestos-laced material. If you have asbestos-laced material please call us, (706) 613-3508, for specific instructions. This pertains ONLY to asbestos-laced material originating from Athens-Clarke or Oglethorpe County.
