The Alma Toevs Walker Discovery Hall Outdoor Classroom Walker Hall, located on SCNC property, was the original home of the nature center from its founding in 1973. It was dedicated in honor of Alma Toevs Walker, a prominent lichenologist and founding member of Sandy Creek Nature Center, in 1993.
Today, Walker Hall serves as a teaching classroom. It is closed to the public except during rentals and special events. The building features outdoor decks which overlook Claypit Pond, picnic tables, and connections to nearby trails.
