Facility Upkeep

The Buildings Cost Center provides mowing and related vegetation maintenance services to 100 acres at 66 Athens-Clarke County facility campus locations. During warm months more effort goes toward mowing-related services and upkeep of high-profile building entrances visible to the public. During winter months more effort goes toward tree and shrub pruning, landscape bed mulching, and landscape improvement and renovation projects. A full range of horticultural and arboricultural services are provided.

Supplemental services include erecting and decorating the community Christmas tree, installation of holiday lighting in trees in the Central Business District, hanging seasonal and special event banners downtown, and providing erosion and sediment control improvements, storm damage response, and other related services for Athens-Clarke County departments.
