Class Descriptions
Parent & Tots (12 months-2 years)
Our Parent and Tot class is for students 12 to 36 months to further their natural curiosity and exploration in a safe and fun learning environment with mom, dad, and/or caregivers.
With specific, progressive, age appropriate lesson plans and weekly themes, your toddler is sure to grow, develop, and meet new friends.
Studies have shown that young children who participate in gymnastics benefit in 10 areas:
- Vestibular - sense of balance
- Proprioception - understand space and position
- Social skills - taking turns, sharing and peer interaction
- Classroom skills listening, following directions, staying with class
- Active Play - establishing exercise fun
- Confidence - learning new skills, encouragement
- Courage - overcoming fears, trying hard things
- Strength - use/development of muscles
- Flexibility - stretching
- Foundation - preparation for future activities
All of our Parent and Tot classes follow a semi-structured format where the students are introduced to following circuits in sequential order with the aid of their parent and/or caregiver before they are allowed to explore. The use of preschool sized equipment built just for little ones is incorporated within the classes. Students must be walking. A parent or caregiver must remain with each child for the duration of the class. The length of the class is 30-minutes.
Tumble Tots (3 years)
These classes are designed to help boys and girls 3 years old develop coordination and physical fitness through basic motor and gymnastics skills. Students will learn special activities with the use of gymnastics equipment fitted to their small size. Students must be potty trained. The length of the class is 45-minutes.
Kindergym (4 years)
These classes are designed to help boys and girls develop coordination and physical fitness through basic locomotor and gymnastics skills. Specific activities, along with the use of gymnastics equipment will be geared for each group. The length of the class is 55-minutes.
Girls Gymnastics (5 years & up)
These classes for girls are structured to teach correct gymnastics progression on all four female events (vault, uneven bars, balance beam, and floor exercise) with emphasis on flexibility, strength, and coordination. The length of the class is 55-minutes.
Advance Progressive Gymnastics (4 years & older)
There must be recommendation and/or evaluation to participate in these classes. Evaluations occur twice per year (end of the fall 2 and spring sessions). The Rec League is a fun, recreational league for girls desiring more challenge.
Boys Gymnastics (6-8 years)
Boys will work on floor, rings, vault, parallel bars, high bar and tumbl trak. Emphasis will be placed on increasing strength, flexibility, and coordination through basic gymnastics skills. The length of the class is 55-minutes.
Ninja (4 - 12 years)
These classes are designed to teach basic agility to boys and girls through challenging obstacle courses. Participants will develop discipline, strength, coordination, and confidence. The length of the class is 55-minutes.
