Project 33: Diversion Center

Project Summary

The Diversion/Work Release Center project was planned to house non-violent and minimum security inmates that have been sentenced to a work release program and do not have to be housed in the main Jail complex. The Diversion/Work Release Center is located within the Public Safety Campus on Lexington Road.

The Project includes a Center facility of approximately 13,000 square feet for fifty (50) single beds with expansion to double bunk beds sleeping eighty (80) inmates in a dormitory type configuration with required restroom, laundry, food service, and day room areas, adequate security and administrative areas, and designated meeting and counseling space for operation of rehabilitation programs. The Project also includes approximately seventy-five (75) parking spaces for Center staff, inmate transportation, and visitors. The facilities were designed and constructed to meet LEED Certification standards in accordance with the ACC LEED policy and criteria.
