Project 24: Affordable Housing Improvements

Initial Project Statement

Funding for infrastructure improvements for affordable housing programs will provide improvements for the infrastructure of water, sewer, and storm water as components of the development of affordable housing supported through HOME, other federal funding, and non-federal funding sources.

Project Updates

The demolition, abatement, and grading project is 60% complete. Building and foundation demolition concluded in March 2022. Mass grading of upper site is underway and will take place from March through May of 2022. The grading contractor encountered rock at the vertical Phase I site and partial removal began the week of 3/28. Further assessment will determine the scope of removal necessary to accommodate vertical construction.

Phase I Infrastructure Construction Plans were submitted to ACCGov for approval on 8/17/21, in accordance with the approved Project Concept, resubmitted on 1/21/22and again the week of 3/21. Infrastructure plans will then be publicly bid with anticipated infrastructure work to begin immediately following demolition and grading.
