Lounge Gallery: The End of a Perfect Day, works by Shawn Campbell

The Lyndon House Arts Center’s Lounge Gallery series presents The End of a Perfect Day, photographic works by Shawn Campbell.

Shawn Campbell is a MFA candidate at The University of Georgia and earned a BFA from The University of Akron. End of a Perfect Day is a body of work documented during tailgating of the University of Georgia football games. The work is derived from a unique perspective of outsider and participator. The photos, reproduced on adhesive photo paper and mounted to the gallery wall, simulates a temporary display much like a tailgating event.

Shawn Campbell explores the interactions, bounds, habits, and values of people who have come from different backgrounds, goals and beliefs. He is attracted to the interactions, experiences and lives that bring groups of people together. By documenting and participating in the environment he is investigating, Shawn is able to bring an authentic experience to his viewers.

The Lounge Gallery at the Lyndon House Arts Center, features quarterly solo exhibitions by emerging artists. Artists in the beginning stages or re- invigorating their careers exhibit wall-bound works in mediums alternating from drawing to painting to photography to printmaking.
