On view through January 18, 2020
The Lyndon House Arts Center is pleased to announce the opening of the Biennial program, “WILD”, the Clarke County School District Student Art Exhibition on Saturday November 16 from 1:00 – 3:00 pm.
This year, we have a great opportunity to collaborate with the State Botanical Gardens as they launched the new children’s garden. This year’s exhibition theme and title is “WILD”, inspired by ecology and all the flora and fauna found in the wild of the gardens. The Clarke County School art teachers visited the Alice H. Richards Children’s Garden in its planning stage with a hardhat tour this last fall.
We are also very excited to announce a guest performance. Under the direction of Dr. Eunice Kang, the Clarke Central High School Honors Chamber Strings will perform during the opening reception. They will play a 45 minutes program beginning at 1:00 pm.
New this year is an award program sponsored by the State Botanical Gardens. A selection of works included in the WILD exhibition representing each school will be chosen to be on exhibit for the one year celebration of the opening of the Alice H. Richards Children’s Garden. The education team at the State Botanical Garden will select the award winning student works. A reception celebrating the one year anniversary of the children’s garden will be held in March, 2020.
The “WILD” exhibition is accompanied by a beautiful publication with each student artist’s work pictured. The catalog is available to each child in the show and as quantity continues, these are available to family, friends and all. Thank you to all the supporters and sponsors who make this publication possible.
